A recent Fortune article about brainstorm tech gave some recommendations to improve your sleep. Here are the main take-aways to get better zzz's:
- Establish a regular bedtime
- Always get up at the same time in the morning, also on weekends. (If you are feeling tired don't oversleep but break the first recommendation and go to bed earlier instead).
- Don't work/e-mail in bed!
- Exercise regularly! My best experience is to do your workout in the morning and start fit in a new day.
- Eat right... That means you should cook your own meals and obviously avoid alcohol...
- Try to find the right amount of sleep for you - humans are different and so is their need for sleep. A tracking device might be of help here, also use smart alarm clocks that wake you up when you are ending your deep sleep.
- Organize your activities according to your chronotype (morning person vs. night owl)
Try these recommendations and you will have a better sleep pretty soon.
